Peter Sturm is professor at Graz University of Technology, Austria. He holds a PhD in mechanical engineering. Peter Sturm retired recently and is now acting a senior consultant for research, design and commissioning projects in the field of tunnel ventilation and safety as well as in urban air quality.

He is member of many technical committees for safety, ventilation and operation of road tunnels on national and international level. He has been involved in the design of ventilation systems of road and rail tunnels for more than 35 years.
